Maybe Guardian Storage in beautiful Mount Pleasant can help. Here are five tips to help you make your moving day easier on everyone ( specially you)
.- DRAW A FLOOR PLAN: You know what will save you time and eliminate confusion on moving day? Try drawing a floor plan of your new home before you move. Sketch in and number your furnishings they way you want them to be arranged in each room. Then tag the furniture pieces to correspond with the numbers on the floor plan. That way, the movers know where to put each piece of furniture. You dont want to be making decisions about where each piece of furniture goes on the day of them move. It’s better to make those decisions ahead of time, so the movers can carry the heavy pieces directly to the rooms.
.-PACK AN ESSENTIAL BAG: Pack a bag of essentials for each family member: medicines, toiletries and change of clothes. Keep these handy so you’ll have everything you need for your first night in your new home digging through boxes.
.- PREPARE A “LOAD-LAST” BOX: Always prepare a “load-last” box that contains items you want access to right away, like a coffeepot, filter and coffee grounds; paper plates, cups, and napkins; paper towels, telephone, flashlight, basic tools and anything else you may not want to hunt for on moving day. Place difficult-to-locate items such as hardware and the remote control in a plastic sandwich bag.Make sure your boxes and it will be easy to find all those things that will make you life easier right after the move is done.
.-TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR ELECTRONICS WIRING BEFORE YOU PULL IT APART: Take a picture of all the plugs and wires on the back of your electronics so that when you move in and prepare to set them up at your new place, you’ve got a master plan of what cord needs to be connected to what machine.
.- PROVIDE SUSTENANCE: This is my favorite tip because I’ve been the friend with the truck and have been called on for many moves. Whether you’re working with pros or pals, provide snacks and refreshments for everyone who’s helping out. It’ll keep their energy up, and never hurts to inspire some goodwill in the people who are hauling your stuff around.
